FAQ
How does it work?
Probably just how you expect! Just film yourself performing your monologues and upload it to your preferred online platform (YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, Dropbox, whatever’s easiest). When you press that purple button up there that says “Add to cart”, it’ll ask for the link and your email address. I’ll take a look at your monologues and shoot you a voice memo with the feedback and exercises, as promised.
Please note - if you haven’t recorded your self-tapes yet, you can email your links to me after purchase. Just write ‘Will email’ in the form and then shoot them to me when you’re ready at sarah@shakespearewithsarah.com
What sort of feedback do you provide?
On average, I’ll record about 10-15 minutes of feedback for you (sometimes a bit more if I get excited! It’s been known to happen). That usually covers all the things you’re doing well, plus 3 or 4 things you can keep tweaking. I generally talk through the acting exercises that will help you, or I’ll shoot you a link to a video that explains the exercise. It’s like having a nice chat with me over a cup of tea. I may actually be drinking tea while I talk to you, so you may as well have one too. ;)
How many monologues can I send you?
1 purchase = 1-2 monologues.
Do you offer feedback on contemporary monologues?
Sure do! I help a lot of actors with their drama school monologues, which usually involves both classical and contemporary material. (Side note: did you know my university degree is actually in CONTEMPORARY performance? I know, right? Mind. Blown. I just happen to love Shakespeare a ridiculous amount, but technically I’m trained in Meyerhold’s biomechanics, neutral mask, devising site specific theatre, and pretending to be a tree.)
How soon can I get my feedback?
I can usually get back to you pretty fast, depending on how many students I have that week. Roughly it’ll take me a maximum of 3 business days (weekends are for family). but often I can get back to you within 24-48 hours. If you’re in a rush, please let me know in the comments section of your order form and I’ll do my best to hustle!
What format does my feedback come in?
I use voice memos (usually mp3 or m4a format) because I love how personal it feels to just chat to you as if we’re in the same room, however if you need written feedback for any reason, just note it in the comments. Totally happy to do that for you.
Can I send you a new video of my monologue once I’ve implemented the feedback?
I’m always to happy to watch your work, however if you need a second round of feedback, please click on that purple button again. (Actually, if you think you’ll need two lots of feedback, you can actually purchase it ahead of time by just changing the quantity to “2” when you go to check out. Or just do it later, that’s fine too.)
What if I have questions about my feedback?
As I always say in my feedback, please email me back if you’re confused about anything! Seriously, just hit reply to the email and you’ll get me directly. I’m here to help.
I’m having technical difficulties uploading my video! What can I do?
